Nintendo and GolinHarris Received the PRWeek Campaign of the Year Award at the 2008 PRWeek Awards

The team won for its work on the Wii launch, titled "Wii Launch: How Wii Helped Nintendo Get Its Game Back." The team also received the award for Consumer Launch Campaign of the Year.
Recently, Nintendo introduced a new form of video game system. The Wii featured a unique interface and style of play considered alien to both hard-core and casual gamers. Many believed Nintendo could not achieve long-term success unless the Wii was widely embraced as the new order of video game products and play. Recognizing that Wii required more than a typical product launch, GH developed a strategy that leveraged traditional PR tactics, word-of-mouth marketing and viral activities to build buzz and advocacy for Wii. The campaign was an enormous success that created "pop culture icon" status for Wii, earned more than 10 billion impressions and met Nintendo's sales goals for launch.
